This is a guide to ESO Tank, which will show you about the abilities, items and how to choose abilities in battle. Strategy for Tank There are often about 8 to 10 monsters to appear in ESO dungeons. Remember that dps is Damage per Second and the only way to calculate it would be on a Boss fight where you don't have to move/cc/attack adds/heal which is really rare in ESO. I think your dps is good for your lvl and like Paulingston said what matter it's to attain a decent number at Vr14 (so you should do a little more each lvl).

This is another medium set that is often used by a Tank to buff the groups spell or weapon damage. The set effect can be applied to yourself and three other group members, each of them get 164 weapon or spell damage. It is not the best set but it is another option you have to buff your group.

If you’re serious about maximizing your characters full potential, you will need to spend hours testing and tweaking your build until you prefect it.

Well today I’m going to give you a few short cuts that will allow you to greatly improve the effectiveness of your builds by showing you the important things we have learned by doing hundreds of hours of testing for our ESO character builds guide. (More info & link at the end of this post)

I. Best Race Choices for a Nightblade

Race Choices For Stamina Builds:

The best choice at the moment is Redguard for PvE DPS. Especially with the change to Siphoning Attacks, the extra Sustain really helps in long encounters.

The Thieves Guild patch finally fixed the Khajiit passive which makes them another top contender for maximum DPS now.

For players who mainly PvP, Bosmer is the best option because of their stealth passive. If you plan to tank occasionally, Imperial is also a solid choice.

Race Choices For Magicka Builds:

The best choice for maximizing your magicka DPS is Dunmer because all your elemental damage is fire damage.

Altmer is a more well-rounded choice that gets more max magicka and regen but you will be losing out on DPS. Breton offers the highest sustain, but is the lowest in overall DPS.

II. Prioritize The Right Stats/Attribute Points

Stats For Stamina DPS Builds: To do end game content you will want around 18k HP so you don’t get one shot. After you make sure you have 18k HP you should dump all your extra stats from attribute points and enchants into stamina. If you are still leveling up just make sure you keep putting some points into health, if you start getting one or two shot that means you are putting to many points into stamina.

You should prioritize your stats in this order for optimal Stamina DPS Builds:

• Armor Penetration
• Weapon Damage
• Weapon Critical
• Max Stamina
• Reduced Stamina Cost
• Stamina Recovery

Stats For Magicka DPS Builds: You will also want about 18k HP for magicka builds if you are planning to do end game content and if you are still leveling just make sure you are putting enough points into health so you don’t get one or two shot by packs of mobs.

You should prioritize your stats in this order for optimal Magicka DPS Builds:

• Spell Damage
• Spell Critical
• Spell Penetration
• Max Magicka
• Reduced Magicka Cost
• Magicka Recovery

III. Pick The Right Mundus Stone

Stamina Based Mundus Stones: Most characters should run the Thief mundus stone for maximum DPS but Khajiit nightblades with a high critical strike chance should run Shadow.

Magicka Based Mundus Stones: The Thief is defiantly the way to go for magicka builds.

IV. Optimal Champion Points For Your Build

Your Champion points are going to vary based on your exact build, game content you are doing, whether you are going for single target or AoE damage, and group setup. Below we have put together some basic templates for you to start with and modify based on your needs.

Stamina Based DPS Templates:

Template for 90 Champion Points:

• Green – The Tower: 30 Warlord
• Red – The Lady: 14 Hardy, 14 Elemental Defender, 2 Thick Skinned
• Blue – The Ritual: 20 Mighty, 3 Precise Strikes, 7 Thaumaturge, 0 Piercing

• Green – The Tower: 45 Warlord // The Lover: 30 Mooncalf
• Red – The Lady: 35 Hardy, 35 Elemental Defender, 5 Thick Skinned
• Blue – The Ritual: 49 Mighty, 8 Precise Strikes, 16 Thaumaturge, 2 Piercing

Template for 315 Champion Points:

• Green – The Tower: 75 Warlord // The Lover: 30 Mooncalf
• Red – The Lady: 50 Hardy, 50 Elemental Defender, 5 Thick Skinned
• Blue – The Ritual: 66 Mighty, 12 Precise Strikes, 21 Thaumaturge, 6 Piercing

Template for 501 Champion Points:

• Green – The Tower: 100 Warlord // The Lover: 53 Mooncalf // The Shadow: 13 Tumbling, 1 Shadow Ward
• Red – Lady: 78 Hardy, 78 Elemental Def, 11 Thick Skinned
• Blue – The Ritual: 100 Mighty, 22 Precise Strikes, 32 Thaumaturge, 13 Piercing

Magicka Based DPS Templates:

• Green – The Tower: 100 Magician // The Lover: 67 Arcanist
• Red – The Lady: 100 Elemental Defender, 67 Hardy
• Blue – The Apprentice: 100 Elemental Expert, 26 Elfborn, 29 Spell Erosion // The Ritual: 12 Thaumaturge

I. Best Race Choices for a Dragonknight

Race Choices For Stamina Builds:

• Stamina DPS: The best choice at the moment is Redguard for PvE DPS. Since the Khajiit critical passive was fixed they have become a top contender for maximum Stam DPS.
• Tank: Nord is the best race for tanking because of their reduction to incoming damage and increase to stamina and health.
• Balanced: If you want a more well-rounded race so you can switch between multiple roles, you can pick Imperial.

Race Choices For Magicka Builds:

• Magicka DPS: Dark Elf is hands down the best race for DK’s (7% Fire Damage, 9% Max Magicka, 6% Stamina & Fire Resistance), as it gives bonus Fire Damage to almost all your class abilities and some protection to help you survive if you choose to go as a vampire.
• Healer: Breton, the reduced spell cost and high magicka pool is essential for efficient healing. Second best choice will be High Elf.

III. Pick The Right Mundus Stone

Stamina Based Mundus Stones:

• Maximum DPS: Most characters should run the Thief mundus stone for maximum DPS but Khajiit Dragonknights with a high critical strike chance should run Shadow.
• Optimal Tanking: The Lord is the best stone for tanking unless you have almost 30k HP fully buffed without it, then you should switch to the Tower for the extra stamina.

Magicka Based Mundus Stones:

• Maximum DPS: The Thief is defiantly the way to go for magicka DPS builds, the Thief increases your critical chance which boosts your damage more than any other stone and allows you to use your ultimate more often.
• Optimal Healing: For healing builds you should swap mundus stones to the Atronach, the ability to consistently heal is way more important than your damage output.

The Lady (Red)

• Hardy: 78 points
• Elemental Defender: 78 points
• Thick Skinned: 11 points

Magicka Based DPS Templates:

The Apprentice (Blue)

• Elemental Expert : 96 points
• Elfborn : 71 points

The Tower (Green)

• Magician : 100 points

The Lover (Green)

• Arcanist : 67 points

The Steed (Red)

• Spell Shield : 27 points

The Lady (Red)

• Hardy : 60 points
• Elemental Defender : 80 points
