Jun 10, 2015 It's one thing to change how Dinos can't damage metal structures anymore, but it's a different story when you can do 3-4 grenades to destroy metal doors. The buff that they gave to all explosive damage to metal structures is okay since most of the explosive items ARE time-consuming EXCEPT for the grenades. They are available at level 30, and do not require any crystals to make anymore. I've tested it using official data on singleplayer. Each bullet does approximately 5 dmg with a prim saddle. For comparisons sake, our turtles with 65 armor saddles takes around 6 dmg per bullet. I also tested rockets against a golem with prim saddle, and they do indeed do like 300 dmg per missile. But only if that missile hits them in the head.

Rockets no longer knock out Rock Elementals!

Always have bolas ready. They won't be for the Rock elemental, but for your tribe mate(s).

Whoever tames this thing with stone is a mad man

Use the formula y=(5000+100x)/1800 to figure out how many cannonballs are necessary to knock the golem out. Y is cannonballs. X is level. I suggest bringing at least 2 extra cannonballs.

Be friendly and caring when engaging this peaceful creature. He may disguise himself a rock, as he is very shy. Use stone to passive tame this gentle giant.

Dont try to mine this thing.

If you have a level 9999 and use stone and are on 0.01 times taming it takes 80 years....

If you are unsure if a rock is a disguised golem or not, a spyglass shows their name and level even when disguised. Also, when disguised, the rocks often move slightly as you get close, re settling onto the terrain.

I have tamed this with stone so I am ultimate

Rock elementals are extremely tough to kill or knockout. Over encumbering them inside or around your base and setting them to aggressive allows them to defend your base with their rock throw attack without being kited away by enemies.
